You can now have virtual sex, the way every 15yo boy wants it

I don't even know what to say. I always thought this product (Fleshlight) was a little repulsive to begin with but this just puts it over the top. Here's a quote;

No more iPhoto, something new on the Horizon

Apple gave developers an early preview of its upcoming Photos app this month at WWDC, but what it didn’t tell anyone is that new app for iOS will also overthrow Apple’s iPhoto and Aperture apps for OS X.

A new Photos app for OS X isn’t expected to land on Macs until next year, but in a statement released to The Loop, Apple says it has already stopped development on its professional photography application, Aperture.

Finally, a bright idea.

It’s all about home automation here in 2014, and General Electric are taking full advantage. More than a century after General Electric founder Thomas Edison created his version of the light bulb, the company has introduced a new smart LED light bulb called Link.

What’s neat about Link light bulbs is that they can be remotely controlled by iPhone users from anywhere in the world, being Internet-connected and operated using the so-called Wink app which allows for the control of its settings and syncing with associated devices.

IRS Email

Let me see if I get this right, you're the head of I.T. for the IRS.  You have no idea what email client you use.  You claim that you can't search Outlook folders easily.  ANND the people that are under investigation that work for you, ALL of them have had their computers crash within the past few months rendering their Hard drives unreadable??

Let me provide you with some tech support; use the Outlook search function on the computers that are still running and search for what congress has asked you for.  It WILL NOT take months or years.  At most it will take a few hours.  Next, take those Hard drives that no longer work over to your local Best Buy and ask them to send out those hard drives for Data Recovery.  You can afford it, I know, I did my taxes recently.  If Best Buy can get Little Mrs Manchesters video's and pictures of her grandkids from a hard drive that was in a fire then soaked by the firemen I'm pretty sure they can recover your emails.

Netflix finally gets a clue

Netflix has been working toward Transitioning away from Silverlight to HTML5, it recently indicated on its technology blog. With Silverlight's biggest customer fleeing the web-based video plug-in scene, the imminent demise of browser plug-ins like Adobe Flash and Microsoft's Silverlight has never looked so certain.

Seagate buys LaCie

The all-cash deal is valued at 4.05 euros per share, with Seagate to acquire 64.5 percent of LaCie's outstanding shares from Philippe Spruch, the company's chairman and CEO, as well as his affiliate. The offer from Seagate values LaCie at 146 million euros, or $186 million U.S., including acquired net cash of about 49 million euros, or $65 million U.S., as of March 31, 2012.

The two companies said the acquisition will combine two highly complementary product and technology portfolios, adding LaCie's premium consumer storage solutions and network-attached storage products to Seagate's consumer storage products. Seagate sees the deal accelerating its growth strategy in the consumer storage market, particularly in Europe and Japan, as well as adding engineering and software capabilities.

HP Reveals New Gaming Rig and its First 27-Inch AIO PC

     HP unveiled its very first 27-inch All-in-One (AIO) PC, the HP Omni 27. Slated for a January 8 release with a starting price of $1,199.99, it won't come packed with touch-based input support. Instead, it will feature a non-touch version of its Magic Canvas software, up to 2 TB of HDD space, Beats Audio, HDMI input and options like a TV tuner or a Blu-ray disc drive.

In previous versions of iOS whenever you looked at an SMS conversation the keyboard would obscure half the screen, and the only way to get it to disappear was to go to another conversation you hadn't responded to for awhile and then back into the one you wanted to read. 

In iOS 5 all you have to do is drag the message down so that when your finger drags into the keyboard, the keyboard will drop out of the way.
